To download the free QuickTime player to use with your Windows system, go to Apple's product site - http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/. You can choose a download to your home system or indicate you want Quicktime with iTunes.

Be sure to unclick the boxes there for free subscriptions and news/info and don’t fill in your email address. (You don't want to be putting yourself on any mailing lists.) Click on the "Download Now" button you see there. The downloading process should start automatically. If not, there are links to follow to troubleshoot.

Answer "No" to "Pro upgrades." They will cost you.

Macintosh applications Note for Mac users: You can download free Flip4Mac™ software to play Windows Media files (.wma and .wmv) directly in your QuickTime Player. More info is: here.
